About the Event

🌲 **CoWorking Devon Weekend Hike: A Scenic Journey through Dartmoor** 🌲

Join us for a hardy weekend escape on Sunday, February 4th, at 10 am, as we crack on with a refreshing 11.5km hike across the open Dartmoor landscape. It's an opportunity to unwind, keep fit, connect with nature, and share good company followed with some good pub grub and a pint.

Itinerary:

  1. Start at Saddle Tor Carpark with stunning views.
  2. Head to Saddle Tor, a prominent tor with panoramic vistas.
  3. Explore Haytor Rocks and stare out at the granite outcrops.
  4. Visit Haytor Quarry to learn about its fascinating history.
  5. Traverse Black Hill, taking in the expansive moorland.
  6. Discover a medieval settlement near Hound Tor.
  7. Pause at Bell Tor for a picturesque break.
  8. Enjoy the unique rock formations at Bonehill Rocks.
  9. Reach the summit of Top Tor for views back over the Holwell Down Valley.
  10. Return to Saddle Tor Carpark, completing our full-circle journey through Dartmoor's beauty.

Post-Hike Relaxation:

🍽️  Lunch Venue: The Old Inn, Widdicombe

After our invigorating hike, we'll gather for a well-deserved pub lunch at The Old Inn in Widdicombe. A time to unwind, share stories, and relish a delicious meal together.

Practical Information:

- 🐾 Dog-Friendly: Bring your furry friends along for the adventure!

- 🧥 Attire: Don't forget to layer up! Bring coats, comfortable boots, and any other weather-appropriate gear.

- 🍏 Snacks & Flasks: Pack some snacks and a flask to keep your energy up during the trek.

- 🎒 Bags: Carry a backpack for your essentials, and perhaps a camera to capture the stunning scenery.

Transport Options:

- 🚗 Studio Meet-Up: If you need a lift, gather at the studio by 9:30 am for a shared journey.

- 🚙 Self-Drive: Alternatively, meet us directly at Saddle Tor Carpark by 10 am.

Important Note:

Please arrive by 10 am at Saddle Tor Carpark, as we'll set off promptly at 10:15 am. We'll be taking lunch reservations closer to the date, so be sure to confirm your attendance. It should take us around 3.5hrs as a comfortable guesstimate. 

Please note this is a moderate hike. Although there will be a few stops along the way, the terrain is through valleys and open moorland. We will give 3-4 hours to complete this before heading back to the car ready to go to the Old Inn in Widdicombe.
