About the event
This is one of those routes that surprises you. It starts on the open moor above Plymouth with sweeping skies, ponies in the distance, and granite underfoot. This route is great for confident walkers. From Cadover Bridge to the Dewerstone Viewpoint and down into Shaugh Prior woods and along the River Plym. it will follow the line of an old granite cross and edges above Cadworthy Woods for a proper panoramic reward.
We'll then dip down into ancient woodland, full of mossy stones and tangled roots. You’ll follow the River Plym through twisting paths, stepping over logs, and passing the crumbling remains of old clay workings. It’s a longer loop at around 6-7km, but one full of hidden corners and views that make you feel like you're in another country!
We'll meet at Cadover Bridge (What3Words: undivided.moats.dairy) at 10am and head off for 10.15am. We should be back around 1pm…
