Lunch and Learn
We LOVED our workshop session at our Lunch and Learn with Jade from Ivyhouse Photography. So many tips, tricks and things we could ALL use in our day to day work life (and for improving that insta-game too).
In this blogpost we'll be top-lining the epic value that Jade offered up as well as giving you exclusive access to a discount code to use against any branding or marketing service. All CoWorking Devon members get 15% off Jades services so ping her an email for more info!
1) LIGHTING
A fundamental for great photography, get your lighting right! All in attendance at our L&L can vouch for the effectiveness of this light reflector that jade brought along - super worth investing in for achieving that 'Golden glow'. Magic golden glow maker!
2) DIRECT!
If you're taking photos for someone else, dont be afraid to direct them how to position themselves in order to get the best photo!
3) KNOW YOUR CAMERA SETTINGS!
Most of us use our phone as our everyday camera, but there are certain settings you can use to improve and ease your phone photography. Things such as using your grid markers, turning down the exposure (bringing in light later on in editing software!) and using visual markers such as symmetry.
4) GIVE YOUR IMAGES CONTEXT
Think about the setting for your photography, what does the background say about what you're offering? Does it align with your brand identity? By carefully selecting and curating these contextual elements, photographers can evoke emotions and convey powerful narratives that resonate with their audience.
5) UNDERSTAND YOUR BRAND IDENTITY AND AUDIENCE!
Know who you're talking to, how you should be targeting them and what imagery will align with that audience! Throughout the session, Jade emphasised the crucial role of brand identity in visual storytelling. She emphasised the significance of consistency in maintaining a strong and recognisable brand. By aligning the visual elements of photographs with the brand's personality, values, and messaging, photographers can establish a distinct and memorable identity that resonates with their target audience
6) LIGHTROOM PRESETS!
Jade introduced the concept of Lightroom presets, which are pre-defined settings that can be applied to photos for quick and consistent edits. She highlighted how presets can streamline the post-processing workflow and help photographers maintain a cohesive visual aesthetic across their brand. By utilising Lightroom presets, individuals can achieve a professional look while saving time and effort.
IN CONCLUSION
Overall, Jade's workshop provided immense value, equipping us with practical knowledge and empowering us to improve our photography skills. We highly recommend connecting with Ivyhouse Photography to access Jade's photography and marketing services, and don't forget to use the 15% discount for added benefits. Get ready to elevate your visuals and make a lasting impact with your audience!
