WELCOME TO YOUR STUDIO HIRE!

YOU'RE ON YOUR WAY, LET'S GET YOU SETTLED.

🗝️ ACCESS TO THE STUDIO:
The studio key is kept in the key safe on the outside of the door, on the right-hand side under the CoWorking Devon sign.

The code will be sent to you on the day of your hire for security reasons.

Studio hire runs for 24 hours from 6pm to 6pm when booked over a weekend. You’re welcome to arrive later or start in the morning if that suits you better but no over night staying is allowed.

Please confirm your arrival time in advance where possible.
 

💡 LIGHTING & HEATING:
All light switches are located on the left-hand side as you walk through each archway.
We keep the blinds closed overnight to retain heat. Please feel free to pull them up when you arrive.

Please do not adjust the main thermostat. It controls heating downstairs as well.

There are three additional oil heaters in the studio space if you need extra warmth. These are usually on timers and ready to go.
 

🔥 FIREPLACE & WOOD BURNER:
You’re very welcome to use the wood burner.

We provide:
– A net of dry birch logs
– Kindling
– Firelighters
– A lighter

The burner will be set up ready to light.

Please do not bring in wet wood from outside or use moss or wood collected from the river. Wet wood causes serious damage to the burner.

If you need additional fuel, please bring dry logs only.

And please don’t take the lighter home with you. We go through a surprising number of missing lighters!
 

☕ KITCHEN & FOOD:
The hob works and is suitable for heating soups and light food.
The oven is not connected.

There is:
– A tall fridge in the meeting room for food and drinks
– A smaller fridge in the kitchenette (mainly used for milk)
– Around 16 cutlery sets, plus a few extras

If anything gets broken, please just let us know so we can replace it for the next booking.
 

🪑 LAYOUT & FURNITURE:
The studio is normally cleared as a blank canvas unless arranged otherwise.

We have:
– 12 large desks (1.6m x 0.8m)
– Ergonomic desk chairs
– 4 dining chairs
– 2 benches

If you need a specific setup, please let us know in advance.
 

🕯️ CANDLES:
Candles are allowed, but wax must be fully protected.

If wax is found on the floor, we will need to remove candle use for future hires.
 

🐾 DOGS:
Dogs are welcome.

If you bring a dog, please ensure the entire space is thoroughly hoovered before you leave so it’s ready for the next hirer.
 

🧣 STAY COZY:
There’s a tall woven basket with blankets available for use.

You may wish to bring additional blankets if your event requires more.
 

🚫 PRIVATE AREAS:
The two back offices are private.

The loft space is out of bounds and used for storage.
 

🧹 CLOSING UP:
Before leaving, please ensure:
– All lights are switched off
– Blinds are closed
– The door is locked
– The key is returned to the key safe

If you overrun into the next studio hire slot, the following 24 hours will be charged to cover any refund owed to the next hirer.
